I feel truly honored to have been a part of the group and to be able to have spent so much time with Natalia Rose and also hearing Gil Jacobs speak on our last day.... he truly gave a remarkable, eye-opening talk, one that I shall never forget as long as I live. It moved me THAT much.
I have been to countless of numbers of doctors, natropathics, etc. After one discouraging appointment after another and spending hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on hostpital visits, tests, supplements galore - it wasn't until learning what I did at the Teacher's Training and hearing what Natalia and Gil had to say that I for the first time had my "ah-hah! moment", when the light switched on in my head and I just knew for the first time that I had learned things that will change me forever. There is no going back once you are opened to the world of truth, and to be able to have the knowledge that all illnesses are really infact created equal. They do not vary in difference, but in intensity. In order for one to truly heal themselves, the focus must be not on what to put IN to the body, but what to get OUT of the body. Health truly is not about what you take in. We were all born with everything that we need, but years of eating non-human food and focusing on CONSUMING rather than ELIMINATING has destroyed our bodies natural state.
However, it is reversable! If everyone stopped paying so much attention to labeling themselves "100% raw", "vegan", etc. and focused more on CLEAN CELLS being the number one priority, I really think that over time we will be able to change all of our lives... one clean cell at a time! As our bodies become cleaner, our world becomes a better place.
CLEAN CELLS = HAPPY LIFE.
I think too many of us (myself included) get way too caught up in wanting to be as pure as we can, that we rush into something, like going 100% raw overnight and because we have seen so many people have amazing results when doing so, we expect the same to happen for us. When we try to be perfect and make sure that everything we eat is "RAW", we start to focus too much on the food aspect - (recipes, meal planning, how to eat around other people who arent raw foodists, etc) and the ultimate goal of having clean cells really isn't even a part of your thoughts anymore.
How can one expect to eat a pound of almonds (and believe me I've done this) and feel light and energized afterwards?? Raw or not, if you are eating too much DENSE food and not having regular colonics or enema's, it's unrealistic and unlikely that ultimate health will be achieved.
Again - it's not about being RAW it's about having CLEAN CELLS.
Cooked vegetables are cleaner than nuts and seeds (yes, you read that right). Honestly, what do you think would pass through the body more easily - a plate of steamed greens or a bowl of nuts and dried fruits? The answer is that the cooked veggies would be digested and eliminated much more quickly, without leaving behind any icky residue.
Remember - FROM MATTER COMES ILLNESS.
I would personally much rather eat some cooked veggies, although they are not "raw" and know that they will be quickly existed in my body - rather than eat some nuts and seeds (though raw, but very dense) and which will more than likely end up sitting put in my colon for awhile. Cooked veggies are not "evil" or "deadly" - years of fecal matter stuck inside of our colon is deadly.
Fruits and vegetables are ideal human food - WHY? they are the only foods which do not leave any residue in the body. So although fruits and vegetables are really the only foods meant for human consumption, and although the heating of food is not natural, nor is juicing of vegetables or fruits natural - the simple truth is that WE ARE NO LONGER NATURAL.
We were never meant to eat the things that most of us ate while growing up. We were not meant to live in such toxitity and consume so many medications, or lather our bodies with chemicals that are marketed as "beauty products". What is beautiful about putting chemicals onto our bodies that will end up inside of us?? doesn't sound too sexy to me. I'll take some coconut butter instead, thanks! Bottom line is, we are not natural anymore and therefor we cannot expect to take someone who is used to eating the SAD (Standard American Diet) and put them onto a 100% raw and vegan diet and think that this will be the cure-all.
The eating of living and raw foods is to awaken the matter in our bodies that has been sitting in there, making us sick for so long and to then release the matter... but SLOWLY! without transitioning there is much room for error. We want to SLOW down the detoxing process enough for our bodies to safely start to awaken things, get things moving, and then release the blockages. Detoxing too quickly without proper transition and colon cleansing can result in many unpleasant ways. We want to eliminate the obvious precursors, but leave room for the foods that will help us to transition onto a primarily properly combined, live food and quick-existing life-style. You can eat a 100% raw vegan diet for years and possibly never experience that energy or glow that so many others do - because if you are eating dense foods and not cleaning out your sewage system or taking in fresh vegetable juice on a regular basis, how can you expect to feel good!?!
Do not think of health as what you need to put in more of - think of health as what you are getting out, that way our bodies can regenerate itself and feel the way that we were all meant to feel... GREAT! We should not have so much sickness and disease in this world and it's a shame that more people do not and will not realize that "true health starts in the colon" - if more docotrs understood this, the world would be a much healthier place. That is one big reason why I try my hardest to spread the word about this lifestyle - it's not about pushing information down someone's throat, or making them feel like less of a person for not understanding. It is about showing them a way to open their minds and to think outside of the box - to see the other options and to learn more (if they are willing) about how to achieve true health and happiness.
The journey that I am on is not just about healing my own self from chronic illnesses, but to spread the word and to help others as well. I was not put through so much suffering to just go on in life with no other purpose other than to try to heal myself... I have gone through such pain to be able to turn it all into a journey of learning and gaining more knowledge that will one day touch someone elses life and if anything that I have gone through can help just ONE person with bettering their life, then I feel complete.
There is truly no better gift than the ability to help another person. And so although along my journey towards health, my wings have been tattered and torn - I will continue to fly on, even if with broken wings.

Britanie, I just LOVED this post...it's so true! So many just strive for ALL RAW whatever that means...I feel very vibrant when I eat some whole foods that aren't raw (as well as lots of raw!!)...I'm a high-raw girl (strive to be) and I TOTALLY AGREE With you...mwah! Love it!
Great post!, what you wrote makes a whole lotta sense, thank-you for sharing, Gx
Informative post. I have been struggling with raw for a while now and I am glad to have read this. Thank you for sharing the information you have gained!
Your post was AWESOME and completely inspiring!! Totally true, to just focus on CLEAN CELLS rather than if this or that is "ok" on raw. It's really actually freeing for me...thank you!!
Obviously i have told you how similar we are towards our health issues and how we suffer from the same ailements. reading this post was much anticapated as i was lost on which path to take. thank you for opening my eyes up. i agree 100% fruit and vegetables (emphasis on the veggies) are better than nuts and sprouted this and that. health comes first and although 100% raw is great for many to dive into- theres the rest of us that take much longer to take that 100% step. than kyou thank you thank you for helping me. uve made me take a big breather and relax about my health. i can now follow you on that road to recovery. your a blessing to many if not all.
Beautifully written.....
Glad to hear it was such a moving experience for you.
Would love a chance to pick your brain for help on my own journey.
Great post! I too strive to be high raw, I think we all just have to do the best we can whether it is high raw or for some 100% raw.
I wanted to ask what your email is, so I can invite you to my blog:)

technochef,
I think too many of us are struggling with staying 100% raw and focusing on the "raw" aspect more than clean cells which is not going to help anyone and will only create more struggles for us. I hope that this post can help you to overcome some of your struggles!
xxo,
Britanie
